Club Caddie describes itself as "All In One, Golf Management Software, Built by Golf Industry Professionals": "a comprehensive cloud suite equipped to handle every need of public, semi-private, & country club golf course operations", which also serves driving ranges and golf simulator businesses. Per clubcaddie.com, checked October 22, 2026, it was "Acquired by Jonas Software in 2020", and Club Caddie and Jonas together "service over 2,500 golf clubs in 20 countries".
Because Club Caddie already covers the tee sheet, point of sale, food and beverage, member billing, events and marketing, golf operators who search for Club Caddie alternatives are usually checking one specific requirement rather than replacing everything. The three most common: a course that wants a browser-first tee sheet and POS with built-in analytics; a private or country club that wants native club accounting and a deeper member back office; and a multi-club operator that wants membership sales, e-signed agreements and benefits that follow the member across clubs. This page compares seven platforms on exactly those points, with every fact linked to the vendor's own site.
How this page was researched. Every vendor fact was read from that vendor's own website in October 2026 and is linked in a Source note. Where a vendor's pages don't say something, we say so rather than guess. Club Steward is Ardn's own platform, so it is labelled as ours wherever it appears. No ratings or review counts are quoted.
Club Caddie at a glance: the baseline
Before comparing alternatives, here is what Club Caddie says about itself on its own website, in its own words. These are the capabilities an alternative has to match or deliberately trade away.
- Who it is for: "public, semi-private, & country club golf course operations", plus "country clubs, driving ranges & golf simulator businesses". The homepage lists Daily Fee & Resort, Semi-Private, Clubs, multi-course operators and Indoor Golf as the segments it serves.
- Ownership and history: "Acquired by Jonas Software in 2020, Club Caddie was founded by golf course owners & operators who continue to build the product & manage the company's business operations today." It describes itself as "part of the Constellation Software portfolio" through Jonas.
- Hosting and software: "the entire Club Caddie suite is hosted in the cloud, reliably, with Microsoft's Azure services". It also describes "One simple to use Windows application" that runs the operation, and its POS page says it "runs on any personal computer running Windows 7 or Windows 10". The homepage calls it "All-In-One, Cloud Based, Windows and Browser Based Applications".
- Tee sheet: tee times booked "over the phone, in person, online or optionally by utilizing a third party tee time distributor partner like PGA Tee Times, Golfback, Supreme Golf, Teeoff.com or GolfNow"; recurring leagues with alternating front and back nines; tournaments and outings with tee sheet blocking, function sheets and deposit management; and a drag-and-drop "Flash Price" feature for low-utilization periods.
- Point of sale and F&B: "a single, unified program that includes a cloud-based register for any location" (pro shop, bar, restaurant, pool, half-way house and mobile registers for cart attendants), taking cash, credit card, gift card, check and membership ID. Restaurant tools link up to 100 tabs, send tickets to the kitchen or bar, and include floor plans, server clock-in and tip management.
- Members: unlimited membership classes and rules; members "automatically billed, monthly, quarterly and/or annually" by card or ACH stored in a "vaulted and PCI compliant merchant system"; member minimums and discounts; a member portal with itemized receipts, statements, minimum-spend balances, sub-accounts, and the ability to "view and agree to course or club billing policies".
- Multi-course: "link an unlimited amount of registers across their properties to a single database"; memberships "spanning across multiple facilities and/or regions"; gift cards, rain checks and loyalty rewards usable at all courses; and "With permission, access any course in the portfolio with a single sign-on."
- Accounting and integrations: reports cover "G/L accounting, revenue, inventory, member A/R" and more, with a QuickBooks Sync App that can "Export IFF Files or automatically sync your point of sale data". The integrations page lists QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials and Microsoft Dynamics among accounting and ERP partners, and mentions "open APIs".
- Pricing and updates: no prices are published. The homepage says "Courses pay a reasonable monthly fee for their technology", the About page describes "an affordable and transparent monthly fee" and a "Software for Life" policy of not charging for major upgrades, and the product is "updated no less than every month".

Why clubs look at Club Caddie alternatives
Club Caddie is a broad golf operations suite, and most operators who evaluate alternatives are checking a specific requirement rather than looking for something smaller. The reasons that come up most often:
- Native club accounting: Club Caddie reports on G/L accounting and member A/R, and its accounting page centres on syncing point-of-sale data to QuickBooks or exporting IFF files, with SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics listed as partners. Private and country clubs that want accounts payable, a general ledger and bank reconciliation inside the club system tend to shortlist Jonas Club Software, Clubessential, Northstar or Club Steward, which describe native accounting on their own sites.
- Membership sales and e-signed agreements: Club Caddie's member portal lets members view and agree to billing policies, and its Starter Sheet supports a digital cart waiver. E-signature of a membership agreement inside an online join is not stated on the Club Caddie pages we reviewed. Clubs that sell memberships online often want the contract signed before the first payment, in the same system.
- Browser-only or tablet-first operation: Club Caddie describes both a Windows application and browser-based tools. Some operators prefer a platform described as running entirely in a browser or on tablets, such as foreUP ("just about any hardware that supports the Chrome browser") or Lightspeed Golf (an iPad-based restaurant POS).
- A second opinion outside the same parent company: Club Caddie and Jonas Club Software share a parent, Jonas Software. Clubs comparing at renewal often want at least one quote from a vendor outside that family alongside one inside it, so the shortlist reflects the whole market.
- Benefits that follow the member across clubs: Club Caddie supports memberships across facilities and regions, with balances and invoices in one place. Operators with several private or semi-private clubs sometimes also want quantified benefits (rounds, guest passes, dining discounts) drawn down automatically at whichever club the member plays, and reports scoped by region, demonstrated on their own data.

Each Club Caddie alternative in detail
1. Club Steward by ArdnArdn's own platform
Ardn's own platform for multi-club golf and country club operators.
- Core modules are Membership Sales (shared lead pool with SLA escalation, pipeline by stage, tour board, e-signed contracts) and the Members App (a per-club installable app in the club's own brand, with a member card ready for Apple and Google Wallet).
- Add-on modules: Website & Marketing, HR, Tee-Times, Events & Catering, Point of Sale, e-Commerce, Subscription Billing & Dues, Member Service with Chatbot and an Accounting Suite. Property Management is listed as coming soon.
- Every club gets its own branded website with live prices from the back office and a six-step online join: plan, household, dues and add-ons, sign, autopay, pay. A waitlist replaces Join when a plan reaches its cap.
- Benefits are quantified (rounds, guest passes, dining discounts, room hours), reset monthly, yearly or on the anniversary, can be capped per club or per network of clubs, and booking a tee time draws down the allowance the member saw while booking.
- Dues run on autopay by card or US bank account (ACH), with a prorated first period, failed-payment retries that never charge twice, statements with finance charges and food and beverage minimums.
- Club-level isolation is enforced in the database with row-level security on every table, with more than 550 permissions granted per role and per club, field history, an audit log and a 30-day recycle bin.

Club Caddie vs Club Steward: where each one fits
Club Steward is Ardn's own platform, so read this section as the vendor's view, checked against both products' own pages. Club Caddie's own pages put the tee sheet and the register at the centre: daily-fee, member, league and outing play on one sheet, third-party tee time distribution if you want it, a Flash Price for slow periods, and a register for every outlet on one database. That is a strong fit for public, semi-private and resort courses whose revenue is mostly rounds, food and beverage and retail.
Club Steward starts from the member and the portfolio. Its product pages describe a membership sales desk (a shared lead pool with SLA escalation, a pipeline by stage and a tour board), a six-step online join from each club's own website (plan, household, dues and add-ons, sign, autopay, pay), contracts with built-in e-signature where payment is blocked until the agreement is signed, and one member record across every club, with reports scoped automatically for corporate, regional VPs and GMs. The tee sheet, point of sale, events and accounting are add-on modules on the same record.
- Tee sheet: Club Caddie describes league blocking, outings with deposits, third-party distribution and Flash Price. Club Steward describes rate grids (peak, off-peak, guest, twilight, member and public), booking windows by tier, a waitlist, standing tee times, a weekend lottery, starter, ranger and bag-room screens with pace of play, and rain checks and no-show rules applied automatically.
- Members: Club Caddie describes unlimited membership classes, automated monthly, quarterly or annual billing and a member portal. Club Steward describes quantified benefits with monthly, yearly or anniversary resets, caps per club or per network of clubs, and a tee-time booking that draws down the allowance the member saw while booking.
- Point of sale: both describe a register for every outlet with gift cards and member charging. Club Steward adds that dining keeps selling offline on cash and member account; Club Caddie lists gift cards, rain checks and loyalty rewards across all courses.
- Accounting: Club Caddie syncs to QuickBooks and lists ERP partners. Club Steward's Accounting Suite add-on describes a general ledger, payables and receivables per club or consolidated, bank reconciliation, budgets, period close and purchasing with three-way match.
- Operating model: Club Caddie describes a 24/7 support team and monthly releases. Club Steward is run for you by Ardn as a managed service, with a US-based team and a 4-hour response SLA.
Switching from Club Caddie: what to plan for
Most of the work in any golf software move is not the software. It is getting member, customer and balance data out cleanly, rebuilding rate and booking rules, and retraining the pro shop and dining staff before a busy weekend. The checklist below applies to every alternative on this page.
Start by asking Club Caddie how an export of your customer and member records, membership classes, open balances, gift card and rain check balances, and sales history is delivered, and in what format. Then ask each alternative what it imports, and which history it keeps as reportable data rather than as an attachment.
- Stored-value balances: Club Caddie gift cards, rain checks and loyalty rewards are usable across all courses. List every outstanding balance type and make sure the new platform can carry each one, or plan to honor them in a transition period.
- Card and ACH tokens: member card and bank details are tokenized in Club Caddie's PCI compliant merchant system. Ask both sides whether tokens can be migrated or whether members must re-enter payment details, because that decides how much member communication the switch needs.
- Tee time distribution: if you use PGA Tee Times, GolfNow, Supreme Golf or another distributor through Club Caddie, confirm the alternative supports the same partners before you sign.
- Accounting: if Club Caddie syncs to QuickBooks today, decide whether you will keep that ledger (foreUP and Lightspeed Golf also describe accounting integrations) or move to a native club general ledger (Jonas, Clubessential, Northstar or Club Steward's Accounting Suite).
- Phasing: for a multi-course operator, ask whether one course can go live while the others stay on Club Caddie. Club Steward turns modules on per club, so one club can go live while the rest of a portfolio carries on as it is today.
- Websites: Club Caddie builds course websites. If yours moves, plan permanent redirects from the old addresses. Club Steward sets up permanent redirects from each club's old web addresses so existing rankings carry over.
How to run a fair Club Caddie alternatives evaluation
Shortlist three platforms, including Club Caddie itself if you are at renewal, and ask each vendor to demonstrate the same scenarios on your data rather than a scripted demo. A useful set for a golf operation: a Saturday tee sheet with a league block, a shotgun or outing, member and public play side by side; a beverage-cart sale charged to a member account that lands on the member's statement; a membership sold online through a signed agreement and first payment; and a month-end report by department and, for several courses, by course and region.
Ask for a written quote by module and by course, including implementation, data migration, hardware, payment processing, support level and contract length. Club Caddie describes a monthly fee without publishing it, and none of the seven alternatives on this page publishes full pricing either, so written quotes on the same scope are the only way to compare like for like.
Finally, weigh the operating model. Club Caddie, foreUP and Lightspeed Golf publish their support channels on their own sites; Club Steward is run for you by Ardn as a managed service. Decide whether you want software your team runs or a platform run for you, before comparing feature lists.

Who owns Club Caddie, and is Jonas Club Software a real alternative?
Per its About page, Club Caddie was "Acquired by Jonas Software in 2020", and its homepage says it is "owned by Jonas Software — part of the Constellation Software portfolio". Jonas Club Software is a separate product from the same parent, aimed at private clubs, with native club accounting (accounts payable, member accounts receivable and a general ledger) and the ClubHouse Online member app. It is a real alternative for a private club, but if you want a quote from outside that family, add a second vendor to the shortlist.
Does Club Caddie include accounting, and which alternatives have a general ledger?
Club Caddie's reports cover G/L accounting, revenue, inventory and member A/R, and its QuickBooks Sync App exports IFF files or syncs point-of-sale data on demand or on a schedule; its integrations page lists QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials and Microsoft Dynamics. Jonas Club Software, Clubessential and Northstar describe a native general ledger on their own sites, and Club Steward's Accounting Suite add-on includes a general ledger, payables and receivables per club or consolidated. foreUP and Lightspeed Golf describe accounting through integrations.
Which Club Caddie alternatives support multiple courses?
On their own sites: Lightspeed Golf describes multi-site memberships, packages redeemable at any course and Business Intelligence across all courses or one; foreUP describes viewing, reports and databases for multiple courses from one central account; Northstar supports multi-club, multi-course and multi-property organizations; Club Automation supports multi-location scheduling and reciprocity; and Club Steward keeps one member record across every club with reports scoped by region. Club Caddie itself offers single sign-on across a portfolio and memberships spanning facilities and regions.
How much does Club Caddie cost compared with the alternatives?
Club Caddie does not publish prices; its homepage says "Courses pay a reasonable monthly fee for their technology". None of the seven alternatives publishes full pricing either. Lightspeed Golf publishes its terms (quote-based, no long-term contract, pay-as-you-go), foreUP's current pricing page returns a 404, Club Automation says most plans are 12-month or multi-year agreements, and Northstar describes modular pricing. Ardn does not publish Club Steward pricing; ask for a quote by module and by club.
Is Club Steward a neutral entry on this page?
No. Club Steward is Ardn's own golf and country club platform, and it is labelled as ours wherever it appears. Its facts come from the Club Steward product and features pages, and every competitor fact comes from that competitor's own website, linked in a Source note.
